This Halloween, we will be given a rare treat! For the first time since 1944, there will be a full moon on October 31, 2020!

The next full moon will appear on the morning of Halloween Day at 10:49 AM (EDT). It will be seen opposite the sun. This will be special because it is a blue moon. This just means that this will be the second full moon in the month. Most months have one full moon cycle, but this month had two, the first one being October 1st. For more information go to NASA’s website here.

Pretty spooky. Most of us will be stuck inside and unable to frolic or trick ‘r treat but at least there’s the Halloween full blue moon!
