As Above So Below: There is something about the title alone that is creepy.
A documentary crew descends into the historical catacombs beneath Paris. Looking for answers, they soon find themselves becoming part of a gruesome legend.
This is one of the most well-done “found footage” films I have ever seen. The location alone is terrifying, as it was shot in the actual Paris catacombs.

Cadaver: This film shows what happens when an interactive experience show goes too far…
In post-apocalyptic Norway, people are doing all they can to survive. When a show rolls into town promising a free meal, a couple and their daughter become part of the event in a way they never expected.
This movie had us guessing the entire time!
Cargo: Based on the award-winning short of the same name (which you can view here). This is a zombie film done in a way I have never seen done before, which is saying a lot.
During a zombie outbreak, a father, played by Martin Freeman (The Hobbit, Blank Panther), rushes across the Australian outback to get his infant daughter to safety before his infected bite changes him into a monster.
I can not say enough about how great and well-written this film is! Highly recommend!
Fun fact: Andy Rodoreda & Yolanda Ramke from the original short make an appearance as a family on the river bank.
A Classic Horror Story: I , Had, No, Idea, where this was going!
A group of strangers joins a carpool across a rural part of Italy. Things take a turn when they run into car trouble and soon find that they are in the middle of an ancient Legend.
This is an Italian film, but subtitles and/or English dubbing are available.
Creep: The name says it all.
An aspiring filmmaker takes a job documenting the life of the man who hired him. He soon finds that his subject is not the man he claims to be.
This movie will seriously creep you out. Sorry for the pun. Starring Mark Duplass (The League, Safety Not Guaranteed)

Creep 2: Mark Duplass is back and just as creepy. As much as I enjoyed the first one, I actually liked this sequel better.
A fearless YouTube documentarian on the search for an interesting person for her show meets up with someone a lot more intriguing than she expected. He will test just how fearless she truly is.
This film is more or less a stand-alone. You do not need to have seen the first Creep, but it sure helps.

Hellfest: This film is for those who love Halloween mazes!
A group of friends spends Halloween at an amusement park horror festival. Little do they know, a serial killer has his own frights in mind.
This movie really gets down the feel of a haunted amusement park walk-through. They filmed it at Six Flags White Water in Marietta, Georgia.

House Of The Witch: This felt like a classic scary story.
A group of friends decides to spend Halloween night in an abandoned house. What they think is a prank soon turns into reality as they uncover a curse on the house.
This film will have you second-guessing partying in that old haunted manor in town…

Hush: This film felt very realistic. They were great at not falling into typical horror movie tropes.
A deaf/mute writer lives alone in the woods, trying to finish writing her next novel. When a killer shows up and begins to torment her, Maddie must use all of her remaining faculties to stay alive.
This movie was terrifying the whole way through!

In The Tall Grass: Based on a Stephen King novella, this movie will make you think twice before innocently walking into an open field.
On a road trip to leave the past behind them, a brother and sister travel through rural Kansas. After pulling over, Becky here’s a voice in the grass and runs in. What they find is a twisted evil waiting for them.
This was a random find that ended up being a nice surprise. Starring Patrick Wilson (From all the things you love. The Conjuring, Insidious, Bone Tomahawk).

Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight: At this point, we all know it is not a good idea to let a bunch of teens go into the woods, right?
At a retreat for kids to get away from technology for a while, a simple campout turns into a bloody nightmare when they find that something deadly lives in those woods.
This has elements that felt like a higher quality Troma film. No offense to Troma, but they know what they are doing.

The Perfection: This film definitely kept us guessing a whole the entire way through. Suspense, terror, and just plain great storytelling!
Two cello savants meet and fall for each other fast. While on a road trip, strange things begin to happen, linked to their similar pasts.
The music in this played just as big a role as the actors did. Starring Allison Williams (Get Out) and Logan Browning.

The Platform: This Spanish film, oh man!
In a future prison, the inmates eat on a tiered system. A platform filled with food descends level to level, leaving each inmate only with what the previous cell has left them.
This is incredible social commentary but also super duper freaky.
Watch the trailer here (but I recommend going into it cold).
Sweetheart: One of our favorites on the list. The cinematography alone is worth the watch. That one shot- I am not going to say anything else, but you will know what I am talking about.
A girl is stranded on a deserted island, she thinks… Seeking shelter and rescue, she discovers that she is not alone and nowhere near safe.
I do not want to say too much; you just have to watch it. Just a heads up, the name does not have much to do with the movie.
Watch the trailer here.
Vampires Vs. The Bronx: This movie is so much fun! Think Stranger Things meets The Lost Boys.
A neighborhood in the Bronx is being regentrified…by vampires. It is up to a group of teenagers to stop this threat when no one else believes them!
The cast of kids in this film is incredible! Also starring Method Man (Wu-Tang Clan, How High), Chris Redd (SNL, Popstar), and Zoe Saldana (The Guardians of the Galaxy).

***BONUS***
Ash Vs. Evil Dead: The TV show based on the Sam Raimi creation Evil Dead that ran 3 seasons and fits perfectly into the franchise.
Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell), has been living a simple life since vanquishing evil in the 80s. When the evil returns, he dawns his chainsaw hand once again, aided by his new sidekicks, Kelly and Pablo.
The show first aired on STARZ, which not many people have, so it wasn’t widely seen but now you can see all three seasons on Netflix!
