We’ve been loyal Shudder subscribers since 2016! Here are our top horror movies streaming on Shudder.com now! (Listed alphabetically)

Bodybags: This anthology produced by John Carpenter and Tobe Hooper in the early 90s is such a fun ride! Originally, this was Showtime’s answer to HBO’s successful series Tales from the Crypt but they quickly abandoned the project so John Carpenter made it an anthology that was released on DVD in 1993. So, not a lot of people saw this! So watch it now. Great cameos and pausable moments (You’ll see…Mark Hamill OMG! *wink*)

Channel Zero: Seasons 1-4: This anthology series is based on popular Internet Creepypastas and was originated by the SyFy channel and was one the best horror-themed shows on television that no one was watching. 🙁 Created by Nick Antosca, each season has its own storyline but the throughline is consistent…UNSETTLING TERROR. We highly recommended Channel Zero! Start in chronological order if you please or mix it up. The stories don’t really connect. You just have at it! Here’s a short & sweet summary of each season before you dive in.

Channel Zero: Candle Cove – A child psychologist, Mike Painter, returns to his hometown and ends up looking into his brother’s disappearance from 30 years ago. Mike is then intertwined with a series of similar incidents surrounding a crazy-ass children’s television series. Nothing like creepy AF kids.

Channel Zero: No end House – A group of college kids enter a mysterious haunt attraction and each one is faced with their own personal hell. Y’all shouldn’t be going into strange houses! Don’t you know? That’s the start of a horror movie.

Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block – Two sisters Alice & Zoe move to a small town and are seduced by a mystery surrounding a series of disappearances. They discover much about themselves, for instance…self-mutilation.

Channel Zero: The Dream Door – A couple, Jillian and Tom suspect their home is haunted…what they realize is that they themselves are haunted by their past and it continues to linger on. The character of Pretzel Jack is one of our favorite things. That is all.

Haunt: This Shudder Exclusive produced by Eli Roth follows a group of teen kids that go to a Halloween Haunt off the beaten path that turns into their worst nightmare. This film took so many fun and unexpected twists and turns and also has an incredible score from Tomandandy (Of course. I wouldn’t expect less). This film is TERRIFYING for any of you out there that are afraid of going into haunts because it just may be real…aw hell naw!

Hell House LLC Franchise: We stumbled upon this franchise on Shudder and OH BOY was it a pleasant surprise! The first film, Hell House LLC, chronicles in documentary-style a group of people, Paul, Diane, and Alex, starting a Halloween Haunt in a sleepy small town. In this fresh take on found footage films, it weaves in between archived footage and “real-time documentary reel” keeping you guessing. It’s quite clear from the jump that Paul is hiding something and not so slowly but surely things take a turn leading to opening day. The sequels, Hell House LLC II: The Abbadon Hotel & Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire follow the canon of the first film and the finale is very satisfying. Easily our favorite indie picks on Shudder. They kept me up at night…and that’s a good thing.

Monster Party: This 2018 horror thriller is the story of a heist gone wrong…really wrong. Robin Tunney from The Craft stars in this unexpected journey about family and curbing those insatiable cravings.

Nightmare Cinema: This horror anthology featuring work from well-established directors including Joe Dante is a group of short stories that lend into a larger overall story. Also, hello. Mickey Rourke and all his glorious weirdness. It’s definitely worth a watch! The first short is definitely NIGHTMARE FUEL!

One Cut of the Dead: This indie Japanese horror film took the zombie genre and MIXED IT UP! There’s so much we want to say about this fantastic film but we don’t want to ruin it…so just watch it! One Cut of the Dead was made for $25K and has grossed over $27 Million. Watch it and see why! It has terror, suspense, comedy. It’s a perfect little package rolled up into one! Subtitled in English.

Puppetmaster The Littlest Reich: The latest installment in the Puppetmaster franchise (until the next one). Edgar Easton (Thomas Lennon) goes to a convention hoping to find inspiration for his comic book. What he finds is a lot more, as the Puppets, we have grown to know and fear come to life. Great performances mixed with the appropriate amount of terror and comedy, plus, Barbara Crampton, make this a fun watch.

Ruin Me: This film follows an enthusiastic group going to a Slasher Sleepout, except for Alexandra who is very apprehensive and as it turns out for good reason! When the experience turns murderous, Alex finds she has to play by the rules if she’s going to survive! Ruin Me definitely has some WTF moments. Is this real? Is this fake? What’s even happening right now? This is a fun ride!

Summer of ‘84: This Canadian film, also a Shudder Exclusive, gives Stranger Things (Without the giant Demogorgons) and Rear Window vibes. Set in the mid-80s, a group of teen kids fantasizes about conspiracy theories surrounding missing kids in their hometown. As they start unraveling evidence things get reallllll dicey for them. Summer of ‘84 delivers dark comedy, suspense, and definite moments of terror!

We Go On: Miles (Clark Freeman) becomes obsessed with the question of what happens after we die. He offers a hefty cash reward to anyone that can prove to him that there is life after death. This film has a great plot that kept us guessing!
