My Favorite Horror Couples

Written by Charlene Weiss

Morticia and Gomez Adams (Adams Family) – If only every woman could have a man that desires her the way Gomez desires Morticia. Cara mia! Such a romantically strong and tender couple of darkness.

Barbara and Adam Maitland (Beetlejuice) – Til death due us part? Not with this couple. Barbara and Adam are devoted to being together into eternity.

Ed and Lorraine Warren (The Conjuring Franchise) – The true-life couple made famous by the James Wan franchise The Conjuring. They say exorcising is important in a marriage. These two take it to another level.

Mickey & Mallory (Natural Born Killers) – There’s no one more meant to be than Mickey and Mallory Knox. If you run into them on their cross country road trip you may not live to tell your story…but man are they in love.

The Gatekeeper & The Keymaster (Ghostbusters) – These star crossed lovers brought together by Gozer the Gozerian can complete any task when they put their mind to it…even if they turned into a demented red-eyed dog beast.

Columbus & Wichita (Zombieland Franchise) – This unlikely duo doesn’t instantly fall for each other but when they realize what their other options are in this post-zombie apocalyptic world they still prefer each other’s company and love through the best, worst, and skull-crushing moments of life.

Chucky and Tiffany (Bride of Chucky) – They are in love. He’s a doll. She’s human. You know that old tail, but Chucky has ideas on how to fix that. He found his perfect boo in Tiffany. She’s his until the end.

Selene and Michael (Underworld) – They’re both bloodsuckers in their own right but from opposite sides of the realm. Selene and Michael are truly the Romeo & Juliet of the darkness. Awe, love.

Adelaide & Gabe (Us) – They’re determined to keep their family together and will do anything it takes to protect them even if that means battling against themselves and a bunch of crazed murderers dressed in red. You know, a typical family reunion.

Mina & Dracula (Bram Stoker’s Dracula) – There’s something so sexy about vampires, right? Mina can’t seem to keep away from Dracula no matter how hard she tries even though she’s engaged! *shocked face*

Ash & Sheila (Army of Darkness) – Ash comes from a strange land. Sheila and her people look to Ash for his guidance and she catches feelings. Unfortunately, she also catches a possession that puts a snag in their relationship.

Grace & Alex (Ready or Not) – Grace and Alex love each other for better or worse. The thing is I don’t think Gracefully realized that Alex’s “Worst” is his f**ked family.

Frankenstein’s Monster & the Bride (Frankenstein Franchise) – This love story exudes the age-old adage, “If I can’t have you no one can.” or so we think…

Magenta & Riff Raff (Rocky Horror Picture Show) – There’s no tighter bond than the bond between a sister and her brother? Ew. This dynamic duo will do anything it takes to get back to their beloved Transsexual in the galaxy of Transylvania…at all costs!

Veronica & JD (Heathers) – The ultimate teen angst couple. Life is hard. High School sucks. You’re all pent up with nowhere to go. So, why not take some of that energy out on some well-deserved scumbags. It’ll be hot.

Andre & Luda (Dawn of the Dead) (2004) – This budding couple is trying to survive during the zombie apocalypse. Andre is willing to do anything to protect his wife and unborn child. Even if said child doesn’t feel the same.

Rosemary & Guy Woodhouse (Rosemary’s Baby) – He’s a budding actor. She, the doting wife ready to start a family with her husband. Rosemary will live up to any challenge to protect her child even if it’s a beast.

Jack & Wendy Torrance (The Shining) – An aspiring writer and his devoted wife find that sometimes a little isolation will freshen up any relationship. “Here’s Johnny!”

Shaun & Liz (Shaun of the Dead) –  Their relationship was in a rut. Liz calls it quits but nothing like a zombie outbreak to make you contemplate what’s important in life. Who needs couples therapy when you can bond over running from your undead roommate? “Pete…Pete?”

Ig & Merrin (Horns) – Not even death can tear these two lovebirds apart. It’ll even awaken the beast inside him for better or worse.
